Fan Made Films No Longer Equate To Poor Quality

The fan made version of Batman versus Terminator demonstrates how low cost film making no longer means poor quality. Proof of concept for this hardware wise came via the release of the Canon 5D Mark II in 2008. It was the first DSLR camera to shoot at 1080p HD. On the animation side of the equation, software like Blender has been freely available since 2002. It has fuelled numerous animation projects.

To date, the Blender Foundation has been involved in several Open Movie Projects. These include Elephant Dreams, Big Buck Bunny, Yo Frankie!, Sintel and Tears of Steel.

    Time Lord Or Media Guru

With the look of Peter Capaldi’s Doctor revealed on the BBC website, it is interesting to note how Dr Who has been transformed through old and new media. The way in which The Doctor was brought to life via a flexible format – and sustained by regeneration when William Hartnell became too ill to play the part – is now Whovian folklore. A lesser known labour of love to An Adventure in Space and Time,  ‘On The Outside It Looked Like An Old Fashioned Police Box’ gave Mark Gatiss the opportunity to examine the Time Lord as a media icon. More specifically, he addressed how Target novels kept dreams of the Tardis alive before VHS, Netflicks or digital download in the 1970s.

Food waste is an international problem that can be seen in all aspects of the food cycle – manufacture, selling and consumption. The global food scandal, as Stuart describes it, is that starvation in and between populations is manufactured.
